Why this kit matters
The IJN Mikasa holds a major place in naval history as the flagship of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō during the Russo-Japanese War. It played a key role in the Battle of Tsushima in 1905, a decisive naval engagement that shaped modern naval power balance in East Asia.
As one of the few surviving pre-dreadnought battleships in the world, Mikasa is preserved today as a museum ship in Yokosuka, Japan. Its design reflects the transitional period of naval engineering, bridging older mixed-calibre artillery ships and the later all-big-gun dreadnought era.
How to use it
Build using modelling tools, plastic cement, and fine brushes for detailing. Paint is required for accurate hull colouring, deck finishes, and rigging elements. Display on the included stand as a detailed historical naval centrepiece.
This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
